Questions....

Okay, since this whole blog thing is a foreign concept to me, and I need idiot proof ways to update, I don't really understand what is going on with the whole google reader thing.  What is blogloving or whatever, and do I need to move my blogs over there?  Am I going to lose all my followers, or am I going to lose all the blogs I follow? someone help!

Just a reminder.....

I know I haven't been updating this blog at all, but it's because my fitness is no where near where it should be, since I'm having a baby in August!  I have a blog about my pregnancy journey, if you want to take a look! It's called Expecting Baby C.  I promise, once the baby is born and I can get into a bit of a normal routine, I will come back here and join you all on your fitness journey!

Princess Half Marathon

First off, I want to say a HUGE congratulations to those of you that ran the magical 13.1 Miles this morning!!!  It's a HUGE accomplishment and you should all be so proud of yourselves!!!!

I just wanted to write a little note about how all I've been able to think about the past few days is the half marathon, and just how badly I want to run it.  I thought I would be fine not running it this year, but the truth is, I'm really kind of sad that I didn't run it.  Seeing pictures from the expo, and hearing how much fun everyone is having, and seeing pictures of the fireworks this morning from when the race first started are pulling at my heartstrings.  I wanted to be there SO badly.  I knew I wasn't ready, which was my own fault. I could have been ready.  I just didn't push myself hard enough.  And I'm not sure I'll be able to run it next year, either.  I'll be pregnant all through the summer, and won't be able to even start training again until September.  And I really don't think that's enough time.  I am determined, however, to run it in 2015!!!!!

New Blog

So, I don't know if you've noticed, but I've been a bad blogger lately.  And it's not necessarily because I don't have anything to stay....I just know that this is a fitness blog, and all that's been on my mind lately is my baby!  So, I've decided to start a baby blog!  I will still try and post on this blog, too.  I don't want everyone to think I've abandoned them!  And I fully plan to get on some type of work out plan while I'm pregnant, and I for sure will get back on my running plan after the baby is born.  I just want to talk about other things that aren't necessarily fitness related!  So, if you'd like, follow my new blog , Expecting Baby C., here.  :)

To sell or not to sell?

There are so many "at home" businesses that women join in order to make money, yet still stay at home and raise their children.  I have friends who sell Mary Kay, Vault Jeans, ItWorks! Wraps, and Avon, and they are able to make enough extra money that they be stay at home moms, work their own hours, and have fun doing it.  Back in High School, I looked into selling something to make a little extra money, but I didn't work that hard at it, and ended up just keeping the start up kit for myself.

Now that I'm pregnant, Cody and I are doing a lot of discussing about what we are going to do once the baby comes.  Do I continue to work 50+ hours a week, and bring the baby to daycare?  Do I continue to work and hire a nanny?  Do I stop working all together, and we end up tight on money?  We are currently looking into buying the restaurant that Cody works at, and if we were to do that, we'd have the extra money, and I'd end up helping out at the restaurant, instead of having my own job.  But that's still a year or two out.  The baby is coming in 6 months and we have some important decisions to make before then.

I've been really thinking about starting my own "at home" business, in order to make my own hours and earn a bit of extra money.  I know there is a lot of work that needs to be put into making your own business - organization, marketing, etc.  I think that although it would take work, I'd like to give it a try.

There are a few businesses I have been looking into selling.  I had a lady at work tell me she thinks I should sell Tupperware, because there isn't many Tupperware consultants around here.  I agree with her - I've never hear of anyone, or been to a TW party.  But is TW something that people buy anymore.  You can buy cheap alternatives at the grocery store.  Plus, TW generally lasts a long time.  Will there be much repeat business?

Another thing I'm looking at selling are Thirty-One bags.  This is a product I'm not very familiar with, but I have heard a lot of great things about.  Reviews on their products are pretty good.  I have a lot of people who are interested in the bags.

I just am not sure if I want to take the plunge, and sign up.  And if I do, which one do I sign up for?

What do you all think?

Exciting Week!

I FINALLY have a few things to write about!  It's been an exciting week, and this week coming up is going to be exciting as well!  :)

It started out on Sunday, when we went to dinner with some friends of ours.  It's a couple that we don't get to see very often, so it was nice to catch up.  We originally had plans on going to chicago for dinner (yes, we're the crazy people who drive 3 hours to have dinner) at one of Cody's favorite restaurants, that you have to buy tickets for.  But last minute, Cody decided to sell the tickets because the weather was ugly, and we wanted to spend our money on something fun to do in Florida.  We ended up going to our favorite local restaurant, and had a great dinner.

The week was a normal, work and nothing awesome.   Until Wednesday - when we got to have an ultrasound of our baby!!  That's right, we're pregnant!!!!  I'm so excited that I can finally talk about it!  We found out right before Christmas, when I was only 4 weeks.  Cody said he was nervous to announce it just to make sure that things were still fine, until we could go to the doctor.  Well, the appointment was on Wednesday and it was awesome.  Everything with the pregnancy is going great.  I'm going to be 11 weeks on Monday.  We are so happy.  It was a little bit of a surprise, but we can't wait to meet our baby!

So Wednesday was the appointment, which took our attention until Friday when we left for Florida!  We're here and it's great.  I will write a whole post about it soon, but right now we're getting ready to go to dinner.  I will try to update with pictures, too!  Hope everyone is having a good week!  :)

Florida, Days off, and Food!

I need to live a more exiting life.

Nothing really exiting has been happening lately, at least not enough for me to feel like I should write about it.

Work has been okay.  Next week, I need to travel to Lansing to teach a training class.  All of the restaurants in the area are sending 5-7 Team Members to this training session, to learn how to be trainers in their restaurants.  We are doing a practice run on Tuesday, and the real thing on Wednesday. Lansing is about an hour and a half away from here, and I wish that it was just one day, but I guess I'd rather be at the training thing than be in the restaurant!

Our vacation to Florida is in just about 3 weeks!I am SO excited. I want to start packing already!  We are making more and more plans, which is making me even more excited.  My friend, who I used to work with when I was in Disney, is getting us into the parks for free!  My mom and sister don't really want to go to Disney for 2 days, but my dad, Cody, and I really do, so free tickets mean my mom and sister can come and go as they please.  We also decided to go on a fishing trip!  We found a company that does large party charter trips, so probably 30-40 people.  The fishing poles, bait, lunch, and beverages are provided.  Any fish you catch, they will clean for you, and you can take it home and have it for dinner!  Hopefully we catch some grouper or something yummy!

Cody and I had our first two days off together in a LONG time!!!  It was so great to be able to spend some quality time with him.  We had dinner with his brother on Monday, and spent Tuesday shopping.  We got a new comforter for our bed, which I have been wanting for a long time (the other comforter was a cheap one he had when he was single!).  Then we had dinner at our favorite place, a restaurant called Grove.  It has some absolutely amazing food.  I had Blackened Salmon Tacos, a Spicy Kimchi Stew, and Fettuccine Bolognese.  Everything was soo yummy.  They also have some of the best brewed coffee that I've ever had.  I can't wait until we can go back!
